You Know It’s Election Season When the Internet Trolls Awake

Updated: Mar 26, 2022

I have some avid followers.

In fact, they are the first to get my updates and often the first to post comments about me. They are true Internet Trolls.

Google defines them as:

“A person who intentionally antagonizes others online by posting inflammatory, irrelevant, or offensive comments or other disruptive content…”

Here’s an example from one of them:

I don’t know where to begin, but her diatribes reveal a lot about her temperament. Here is my official response to her:

CORRECTION: Your timeline of events is wrong. Here are my responses to your statement:

  • Did I work at BlueHippo? Yes

  • Was I a Senior Vice President? Yes

  • Was I a Partner in the Firm? No

  • Did I Share in the Company Profits? No

  • Was I a W2 Salaried Employee? Yes

  • Was I offered to become a 25% Owner Where I Could Share in the Profits? Yes

  • Did I Accept 25% Ownership and/or Profits? No

  • Was I a Co-Founder? No

  • When Did I Resign? May 2004 (14 months after the business started)

  • When did the FTC prosecute? 2007 (about three years after I resigned and four years after it started)

  • Did the FTC ever contact me about my former employer? No

  • Did I cooperate with state regulators? Yes (this is published on my website and was in the CDA Press)

  • Was my cooperation under duress or did I need immunity from prosecution? No

Deborah, I’ve never run from my association with that firm. In fact, I’ve made it a point to disclose my association with my former employer (not partner) on this website (click here) and in the CDA Press.

I’ve also included a comprehensive background report that you can download that only private investigators have access to (click here). This is called disclosure, but Ms. Rose accuses me, strangely enough, of "hiding the facts."

Besides a few traffic tickets there is nothing all that interesting. No bankruptcies. No liens. No criminal record. No international watch list. Nothing.

The idea behind the BlueHippo service was a good one, but it was poorly executed. That’s why I resigned and later started a competing business. My business was wildly successful and has served hundreds of thousands of satisfied customers, and it continues today. Contrast that with my former employer filing liquidation bankruptcy in 2009 and the owner being fined about $13 million. My 16-year-old firm experienced NONE of those ISSUES.

If anything, it’s a case and point of when you do things for the right reason -- and treat people well -- you get rewarded with great success. I’ve been fortunate that my life is full of such accomplishments and successes.

Unsure of a Person’s Character?

You can tell a lot about a person by the company he or she keeps. This applies to my opponent.

Ms. Deborah Rose is a member of the esteemed Planning and Zoning Commission. She was installed/appointed/voted into there by my opponent. She doesn't reveal this fact in her comments.

Her assumed “common law” husband has disclosure issues, too. He is my opponent’s Treasurer AND also was appointed to the Optional Forms of Government Study Commission (Chairman). Neither my opponent or his Treasurer ever disclosed their cozy political relationship before the Commission Members or the public. That’s wrong and “smells” of cronyism.

Compare and contrast Ms. Rose’s comments toward me with the status she has when it comes to the planning and growth of our county. Could her efforts toward me be to preserve her Planning Commission status within the community?

You be the judge.

If you like what you see and want to put a stop to these kinds of shenanigans, please consider contributing to my campaign. An investment in my campaign is an investment in our community. I thank you in advance for your consideration.
